If your in Australia I doubt you will find a Recessive Pied. Best way would be to buy a young Blue Pied Hen and put her to a Mature Violet Cock bird and you could be breeding some this coming season.

About 5cm to 10 cm or 2 to 4 inches deep. The hen may remove all or some of this and you may need to keep adding more if this happens. She will certainly arrange it to suit herself. If you find that she has removed too much and starts laying her eggs on the wooden base of the box. I would gently rem...

It will be Yellow (Lutino) as will all the Hens with Ino in them as that masks all the other mutations. You can leave them in or take them out. I usually remove mine and give them a good clean making sure to mark them so you know which pair uses which box. I find if you leave them in then mice and spiders can move into them.

Grey Green is a common and easy to breed mutation. It is the Green Series bird and the Grey is the Blue series bird.
It is possible that it came from the pairing the Pet Shop told you and there are a number of other ways to breed one too.
It will appear alot darker than a Normal Green.

You dont want to be breeding your Violet to the Lutino at this stage as the Ino babies they produce can mask Violet meaning the babies could be Lutino and also be Violet but you wouldnt be able to tell by looking at them. Keep the bird warm. Make sure it is still eating and drinking and if not you may need to get a syringe and force feed it. These are the most important things for now. It may still be recovering from its infection but it sounds like you are doing a good job so far.
