Just wanting to know if a male irn can have different partners. I have just bought a beautiful blue irn whose partner died . Somebody said today that here wont breed with another bird. Is this true it doesnt really matter because he talks and he's a good pet. Can anyone help please.

I am sorry to hear one of your Ringnecks died. There is nothing more frustrating and sad considering these parrots can reach their twenties and possible their thirties. If was a pet the news brings more sadness. :cry:

Yes, a male ringneck can have different partners. A breeder who focuses on mutations will rotate males and females yearly. Female Ringnecks will ready accept a mate right before their breeding season too –even if they have never seen the male before. Ringnecks are not particularly picky about their mates as well. :wink:

So, to answer your question, it can be done.
