2 birds
Is it ok to put 1 male w/ 2 female IRN's. My friend has a female which is laying eggs w/out a mate and my pair won't mate.
Nothing good would come out of putting 2 females and 1 male in the same cage. If your pair is not mating it might not be time for them to do so. I don't know where your located but ringnecks have a breeding season. Females tend to be aggressive until breeding season but if she has another female to deal with it will make both females very aggressive toward each other and the one male.

I agree with Donna. How old is the original pair anyway? Are they proven? Some birds will lay eggs at odd times throughout the year usually because of hormonal issues. Pairs normally breed during late winter and spring but when bred indoors and using artificial lighting, IRNs can potentially breed year-round.

You may want to let her keep the eggs and brood over them until she shows no interest anymore. If you take them away she will continue to lay whatever number of eggs she wants in her clutch. If she lays too many eggs she could deplete her calcium stores which can cause brittle bones. After a few weeks she'll likely abandon them and return to her good old self. ^_^
And just because she's laying eggs doesn't mean she needs to breed. It's just their instinct. Some female birds never lay eggs, some do every year. Depends on the bird. So if she is meant to be a pet, she can remain one.
