Sorry - another colour question!

Post by Jade »

On the weekend i bought a blue hen at a bird show and i will pair her up with 'Greeny'. Greeny's parents are the same as Yellowy's parents which is that the mother was green and the father was green split yellow (thanks for the info on that by the way!!!!) Can you tell me what I'll get? Sorry, this will be the last time I ask .... at least until i can afford more birds and build more aviaries!!

Because Greeny's father was Split Lutino, it means only half of his sons would also be split Lutino. So Greeny may or may not be split Lutino.

Green Cock x Blue Hen
=Green/Blue Cocks and Hens

OR

Green/Lutino Cock x Blue Hen
=Green/Blue Cocks
=Green/Blue/Lutino Cocks
=Green/Blue Hens
=Lutino/Blue Hens

So if you get any Lutinos babies you will know that Greeny is split Lutino.

Thank you so much for the information, its truly appreciated. I am only just getting into the breeding thing properly. In the past, it just kinda happened and i was happy with any baby that was healthy, now I actually have an agenda!
