Termites and how to best protect the flock

Post by taketht »

Hello, I have three IRNs, an African Grey Congo and two Parrotlettes. I have been reading here and enjoying it for quite some time, thank you.
We noticed a termite this evening in our home..YIKES! We will be having a company come out to inspect tomorrow. Likely we will have to treat somewhere as this was an issue a several years back as well. We live in a very wooded area. The birds were not with us then. Has anyone else had this issue and what did they do? I realize nothing aerosol can or will be done. I was wondering if anyone here had the plugs with whatever poison YIKES  they fill them with? I don't really know what all they can do I am just trying to be prepared. Any experiences shared or information is appreciated!

Thanks for the response. My concern was/is for the profession pest control usage if needed and it's effect on my birds. I may have been unclear. I was curious if anyone had their home treated professionally for termites and had done any research on it. It seems it would all be done on the outside and in the ground nothing aerosol would or could be used. Still any feedback is appreciated as I am gathering data. Nothing has been found. Appreciative...
