female killing male

hello
can anyone tell me why my my female ringneck as killed the male .
they have been together for 3 years and just had 2 stunning blue babies,im devastated .
i would appreciate any feedback thankyou

Ah, so sorry,

I have limited experience with IRN's, but, I would say territorial instinct/ mothers instinct to protect. Did they interact peacefully before the tragedy?

Again, so sorry for that, it must of been devastating

yeh the babies are 3 months old and both were brilliant parents , even up until yesterday they were both trying to feed them
