Stainless Steel Cage Locks?
Has anybody got a source for stainless steel cage door locks?
My cages have a number of little feeder and nesting doors that I want to secure. They're the type that the door slides up to open (mostly). I want to secure, oh golly, 18 doors, so cost may be a little (ahem!) issue. I've gotten away so far with some rubber covered wire twisty things, but I see a need for something more correct looming in my future. Nothing that can be unscrewed or forced apart would do.
Thanks!

What about the stainless steel dog clips. That's what I've been using. No good?

Yup, those are the ones. The same aisle in Walmart where I get my rolls of sisal, they were right above it. I think they were about $2 each. It's the aisle with nylon cord, and cotton rope and picture hanging kits and stuff.

Zip ties on the ones you don't open often?
Re: Stainless Steel Cage Locks?
Hope they're real stainless. Thanks. Zip ties are, unfortunately, subject to destruction. I was able to install some of the coop cups in such a way they block the sliding - but it's extra messy that way.

I used to use those dog clips as described by Melissa on my peach face cages when I was a kid. Worked really well. Don't know if they were stainless though. We got them cheaply at a hardware store.

I may be off on the pricing...it's been awhile since I've had to buy one. But the ones I have bought have never rusted or chipped or anything and they've been wet and chewed on. Ill check to see if they're marked. I used to use zip ties too until they got eaten by my conure lol. Only other thing I can think of is to get some 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch SS chain from Home Depot, the split link kind, and pry a link open, and then clamp it closed over the ends of the doors. It's hard to pry, but it is doable for you, not for a bird though.

Wow, I'm starting to realise how much of a wossy chewer Nila really is.. he's never even made a scratch on a zip tie! He just mouths them.

Rocky was ten and a half before he learned to chew up wood into toothpicks. Give him time.

Ok, Nila is not such a freak. Phew! He will chew balsa wood occasionally.
