Male and female differences....behavior, talking, etc...

Post by sscopela »

We plan on getting a hand-fed, just weaned, baby IRN this spring. The breeder has asked if we want to be on the list for a male or female (he DNAs all the babies). Of course, the ring on males is stunning, but I'm curious if there are any other major differences between the males and females...behavior, talking, temperament etc...

Certinly not a scientific answer, however having raised 50-60 I have found that only a few made really cuddly pets. I suspect that percentage improves dramatically with additional interaction by the handfeeder and isolation of the clutch mates. At any rate, each bird that I condsidered an absolute loving pet ended up to be a female.
