Hi there BASICALLY at least on of the birds must have the violet gene. (look violet in some way or as i learnt recently be albino masking violet)
If you then want to be able to get normal violet babies you will need to either breed it
with another violet or a blue bird.

Regarding the Lutino with the blue pair as long as they dont carry another colour gene then
all the babies will be green.

Ask away and most of the time there is an answer for all questions.
If you dont ask you will never know.

Hi as long as the birds are not split to anything then this is the result.

1.0 grey(sf) blue
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue
50.0% 0.1 green /blue

All the babies will either be visually green or greygreen

Thanks Glenn

Hi Kimmy,

Not exactly there are colour you can breed her with to get different coloured babies, it really does depend on budget. So far the cock bird you have picked will produce green or grey green babies.

Examples as long as the hen isnt split to another coulour.

1.0 blue ino (Albino) all the babies would be lutino(yellow)
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 ino /blue

If she is split to blue and your pair her to an albino.
1.0 blue ino
x 0.1 ino /blue
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue ino
50.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue ino
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue
you would get lutino and albino babies.

If you want to get different results you need to start to spend more money and by different mutation or find a breeder that can garentee double factor and then that depending on colour can change the results.

Hi Kimmy no worries,

What colour cobalt?

If you did pair it to a violet you would get.

1.0 blue violet(sf)
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
50.0% 1.0 green violet(sf) /blue ino
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
50.0% 0.1 green violet(sf) /blue

you would get green and green violet babies.

Thanks Glenn.

P.S. I am going to stay mature and not comment any further on they way you frased your sentence.

Cobalt is dark factor and is usually in blue and green birds in Aus.

As i said i will stay mature n leave it at that! But possibly.

Hi Kimmy,

Wait a while and see if the nails get lighter if not then there either normal blue or cobalt blue.

How hold are they now?

I have never had the time or patients for hand raising.

And i have to work threw this year and im on call as well.

Got the last 2 years off at xmas time so should think myself lucky.

Have you been asking on the site for advise on what to feed the little buggers as they get older.

You see alot of people with the same issue after raising them they cant give them back or sell them.

And yep it sucks i wonted to get a few rides in on the break but i cant go to far now cause if my pager goes off i need to be able to return calls etc. (Mite try and sneak one in anyway)

I install/maintain/service etc PABX (telephone systems) and network them across Aus, travel all over the place and always meeting new people its not bad, but it is hard to keep up with the technology! It changes so fast and i have to keep going in causes every year.

Coles! nothing wrong with that you got a job! It pays the bills and allows you to have a bit of a life. R U studying at the same time?
