I could not find any violet male that is split to Opaline or even visual violet Opaline male .. any suggestions ? i can get a grey/opaline male but then grey is going to mask violet ... would definitely appreciate suggestions

Re: best possible pairing for violet opaline hen ?
Your next best bet if you can't get a Violet Opaline or a Violet split Opaline would be Blue Opaline or Blue split Opaline or use a Violet Blue and that will give you Violet split Opalines that you can then use to get your Violet Opalines Cocks.

c0keguy, where do you stay? There might be some forum members able to help out. I'm in a similar situation, as I have an unpaired turquoise(?blue) opaline hen that still needs to be paired up for this season.
As for best pairings, rod038 is spot on. I'd do mostly the same. First choice would be a /opaline cock. I'm not to keen to put opaline x opaline, as I fear you might end up with inferior chicks. I don't know the science behind this, but it seems as if better quality birds are bred from splits. The alternatives are a violet cock, or a mauve cock to breed your own /opalines. Why mauve? Because a violet kobalt / opaline is a beautiful bird, giving you the option for violet cobalt opaline later on, and they are striking!

Johan S: I am in USA and Opaline is a rare mutation here only few people are breeding them here .. a single female is about $2000-$2500 .. I think i will go for a DF violet blue/Cleartail cock that i have, can't find any blue/opaline or visual blue opaline cock for the hen ..
Thanks ROD038 for your precious advice .. God bless
