I've had Horatio for about 8 months now. When we first got him he was very stand offish and wouldn't come anywhere near us or take food off us. Slowly he must of decided we were ok people and takes food from us and flies across at meal times for his share
but always used to take it back to his cage to eat. He would stand on your hand if he knew you were taking him somewhere and doesn't bite anymore. I thought we were doing well and slowly he was becoming part of the family. But this morning when we got him up he is suddenly my best friend. He came across for his share of my breakfast and sat on my shoulder till I gave him some (rare for him anyway) he then ate it on my shoulder talking away to himself and sat there for half an hour or so before going off for a play.
He spent most of the morning with me just sat either on my shoulder or on the back of the sofa, and I presume he was trying to prene my hair for me? He was pulling it through his beak like he does with his feathers anyway
Are these change of hearts normal or is he just having a bizzare day?
