Baby Violet ringneck
Hi,
This my 3-3.5 week old ringneck. I took him/her out of the nesting box as the parents were not feeding him/her. He is being such a pig right now with all the food he is eating and I cant believe he is growing so fast. Here are some pics.
I think he is going to be a violet.

Hi, thanks for you nice thoughts
I was wondering, the black on the top of her beak. is that normal? i know ringnecks have a black bottom or the beak but never seen the top like that. the parents have bright red beaks.

Re: Baby Violet ringneck
My understanding is that the black at the top of the beak is normal for babies. It goes away as they get older. Many breeds of birds have black on their beak when they are babies.
Well done with the handraising, you have a beautiful little guy/girl there!

He is beautiful. Mine went through the bluffing stage, it probably lasted a week. The last thing he did in that stage was lunge at me and bite my lip But he is alright now

Re: Baby Violet ringneck
How about a picture update? :P
I'd love to see what Blue Berry looks like now.
