Wow what cute little dinosaurs you have (that’s what they are, aren’t they?) lol. Just kidding, but they are cute. How old would they be now? Good luck!!! A bird never flew on one wing.
Aren't they adorable! I just love those little bitty chicks! I used to breed cockatiels...and those were tiny little babies. I just love them when they first hatch and have all that downy fluff... What colors are the parents?
I love when they have bald heads! I miss that with the two I have at the moment, I could spend 20 minutes kissing their little old man baldie heads! Now they have feathers and Im kinda sad about it...
The picture Posted: Sun Oct 30, 2005 7:28 am - title: so far there are two blues:- Something about that little one on the right with its face up against the wall that just draws me to it, makes me go all soft and lovey! If I could get one that would be the one.
And look at those two runts up the back, hehehe, soo cute. I wish I had the guts to breed. Maybe in a few years and once I have plenty of knowledge .. sigh!
Just toooooo cute!

p.s how much are your sun conures I am kinda looking around at them at the moment for my daughter. Plus does anyone know much about Malabar's .. Thanks!
sun conures range from $350 to some breeders $800 so you just have to shop around, i knoww a lady breeder who has breed irns for many years and will be breding sun conures now, i get one baby form her first clutch for $350, but the cheapest you may find is $400... try your local newspapers, pet stores (ask for breeders names etc.) or even newspapers solely on selling the one in West aust is called the quokka, or on www.petlink.com.au try sensis.com and trading post.com! you just have to shop around!
beauty is fleeting, but wisdom never fades it grows stronger each day
thanks for that .. I have been keeping an eye on www.petlink.com.au - this is where I found Kai's breeders.. I might give them a call too because they had and could get other birds.
also still does anyone know much about Malabar's ?
Knowledge is power and I feel NO question is a stupid question so here goes.
Do the babies skin feel like a thinner version of our skin before they get feathers? I have never had the opportunity to see a baby bird in real except smashed in the sidewalk and they usually have feathers by then.
Um it's hard to explain.. bappys skins are very soft and warm. It's moist but not wet and it's very loose. Theres not really enough of them to touch lol.
I have had people tell me they feel just like human babies skin.
Personally, i think it is a little rougher, probably because their skin is so loose and wrinkly but it is still nice and soft. Baby birds are very warm.
Angie, i don't know much about Malabar's. All i know is they are basically the same to breed as Ringnecks and apparnetly make VERY good pets. However, the price is a bit of a draw back if you want one for a pet
This is why animal husbandry has always drawn me. You get to work with babies (animal ones, lol) all the time. Then when they grow up you can say goodbye and feel good about giving a bird a good home and a good start.
I'm currently looking for Slaty-headed parakeets. ^^
I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
hey us aid you got two ble and 2 grey how do you. i might be an idiot for not noticing but hwo cna you tell they look the same to be. Im curious as to how can u tell or u did that color chart thing and are guess whatever the answer is they look cute i wish i can have pleasure of seeing baby chicks grow. when my grandma did the rehabilitation she avoided all hunman contact and released them since their parents were wild caught.

Scarlet,
In the earlier posts, although you can't see it in the photos, their colours were already coming in.
There was a mistake on my behalf however, saying there were a few Greys. At that stage i was only guessing because 5 babies came from a pair of Grey's.
So far there are 3 Silvers and the rest are Blue. However, some of the Blue's may be Pastel Blue (Turquoise), it is hard to tell at this stage
OMG, i love your babies, i wish i could have at least one...well my IRNs havent mated yet...i need to do some more waiting...but they r just the regular green, dont get me wrong, i love green, but the blue ones r so cute...i love your pics...keep them coming please.
Jeremy,
They are DARLING!!!! Keep the photos coming! I love them! What color is the grey/silver one? I probably just answered it but I'm not sure. How gorgeous! Keep the photos coming.
Hey Jeremy,
Wow! I've never seen a silver. How gorgeous. What colors did you breed to come up with that? I think the greys are absolutely gorgeous too. You don't see them much around here at all. Mostly just the green, and blue variations. How much would a silver and grey cost over there? I know they would be heaps of money here. Just curious! Is it hard for you to sell your babies? Do you worry about them and if they'll get a good home? I would! So I imagine you do too. Sorry if those questions were offensive! I didn't mean them to be. Thanks for the pictures and keep them coming! I can't wait to see the silver and grey as they get a little older! What beauties!
they get cuter and cuter every day! I love those colors...WOW! That blue, the one staring right at the camera, talk about a poster child for IRNs lol. So cute. Can't wait to see them as they age...like Squeak did.
jen, the parents of the Silvers were a Pastel Skyblue Cock x Silver hen.
Over here, Greys are about $150 and Silvers $200 h/r.
Just 2 years ago you would have paid $300 for a Grey and $700 for a Silver
So far, i already have 3 people buying some babies from me so it doesn't seem like it will be too hard. I usually have trouble selling parent raised birds.
Is that a green, 2 blues, and two silvers? Or is one a Turquoise? Or that second one may be a grey but looks turq. in the pic. Sure looks like it on screen.
