BITING

Post by WasasMum »

I don't know if this has anything to do with Spring coming up, But Wasa seems to be doing his little trance dance to my make up kit, any mirror he sees, his rope - ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
He has even started pulling out all my eye shaddow and when I go to take it off him he will bite me, and he even drew blood today.
I saw him full on attacking one of his toys today while I was at home at lunch time.
Can anyone shed any light on this PLLLLEEEAAASSSEEEE!

All a part of he male mating breeding season stuff I call the silly season stunts. Jordan attacks his beads, his bell and tries to mate with everything. He is nippy and chases my toes and growls in the process lunging trying to bite them off. I am just strict and determined. I will push in past his bite and make!!! him step up, on occassion I will take him and simply place him in his cage with the door shut for timeout and a chance to calm down. Keep strong with them and don't let them get the better of you, be firm and stay the boss.

Use strong voice commands to let them know you are not playing when disciplining.

Sometimes hubby will grab jordan around the head hold him and growl back, to let him know he is the boss not jordan, seems to work.

I sometimes roll up a newspaper ball and let him attack that, we will wrestle with it and let him get it out of his system.

Hang in there, it will pass.

Thanks guys!!!! I was getting really frustrated. I guess mating season would also explain all the tail shaking.
Seems I have a little boy on my hands who clucks like a girl lol

Really appreciate your help on this one
Will just keep pretending as though I am boss ha ha ha !!!

is the clucking just a noise or does your baby rock its head back and expose its neck when s/he does this ?

Well this is where the little bugger confuses me.
Wasa will cluck really really loud with his/ her head back just like i have seen in footage of females - but only does this when being affectionate, I guess Wasa exposes the front part of his/ her neck, but recently, has been doing typically male trance dances towards everything - especially mirrors - just like I have seen Jordan do on the clips you have posted, and I am pretty sure he/ she is trying to regurgitate because sometimes when he/ she goes into his/ her trance it appears s/he is trying to bring something up and at times ends up wiping his / her beak on me and all this white stuff ends up on my hand, shirt, leg... what ever lol

The clucking only happens when Wasa wants a smooch
