is this bluffing
Kiki is doing very well but has started nipping a little at my little girl who is eleven.Of course because she bit once rhiannon is hesitant when she puts her hand up and pulls it away if kiki opens her beak. She will step up from me to rhiannon but not from anywhere else. She does not bite sore just a little beak closing on the finger.I want kiki to be happy around all the family and wonder how best to handle this.Sometimes it looks like she is looking for a treat and is unsure of what rhiannon is wanting of her,she is looking for food and rhiannon thinks she is going to bite her.I do not have a problem as yet but today after having her step up onto rhiannon she closed her beak onto my finger and then looked at me like did i do that and took herself off to her cage and settled on her bedtime perch. Not like her but I have just let her be,the cage is open and she will come out when she wants. She seems more vocal and happy when its just me around but has also taken a shine to OH and tilts her head to listen when he talks.Rhiannon is getting upset a bit as she thinks kiki doesnt like her but she reads books and said is this bluffing behaviour. My lovebird hides in my hands when rhia speaks to him lol.She is very gentle and doesn't pester the birds so I really dont know what the problem is,any tips please.
thankyou danni that is exactly what I told rhiannon,I thought she saw herself above her in the pecking order lol,but mind you the poor kid says I speak to kiki more than her,but then kiki is sweet with me.Will try harder to get rhia to stay still and build on the trust between them. Thanks all for your help.
had to leave kiki alone today for few hours, she is not a happy bunny on return,i left her a millet spray her favourite treat but when we came back she was none too happy and attempted to bite me.I stayed still and it did not develop into anything much put she was really not happy.I am at home every day,all day but OH had day off and took me out to buy new dress and bar lunch, kiki is annoyed.Got to take kid to orthodontist on tuesday and kiki will be left all day as its far away how do you guys manage with a bird that rekons it owns you....help...
I tell ya what, its lucky Ricci likes my OH ALOT cos she sure hates me! ALOT! So far she has drawn blood from my left thumb, given me a blood blister on the my right finger, and flown onto my head and started pecking at me! I basically cannot get near her, she wont step up to me and squawks at me lol. Man these are cranky birds!

yes kiki is really going for it now, eyes pinning and lunging at my hands she hasn't bit me sore yet but I am only allowing her kisses first thing in the morning as she gets a bit nippy as the day goes on.I tell her no kiki and try not to look frightened but I am having to be very carefull around her,no more shoulder for a little while.Dont get me wrong she is still her happy charming self and spends all day out on her gym or stand, she steps up when asked but if your other hand is close or your face she goes to nip so its caution.I hope this is just a phase. She is now saying clever girl more clearly and also hello kiki and baby, she says it constantly for a few hours a couple of times a day and we all tell her clever girl. Her feathers are almost all back in on her head where her naughty parents plucked her and she is looking good. She has started to come down when we are eating to share a little but does not steal from us,however she did steal a chip from rhiannons plate but we dont mind as she is part of the family. She is a brilliant companion and amazes me with how busy and energetic she is.She loves a challenge and spent hours removing a hairband from an ornament just to throw it down and wait for me to replace it.lol. Any tips on bluffing would be helpful as I want to make sure I dont reinforce bad behaviour.thanks everyone
