Byndi

Post by jen5239 »

Last night I was in the kitchen working on you guessed it....HOMEWORK and I heard a bird "fly" in the living room. I had Remmi out in the kitchen with me. And he's such a huge help w/ my homework! He loves to just take bites out of the pages I'm working on. He shredded I don't know how many pages in my Human Resource Management book. :D (Gwen did Lou ever help u that way?) Anyway, I get up and go in living room and John's in there trying to scoop Ms. Byndi up. She's runnin' from him. So I go over and put my HAND-not fist-down. Now usually she would have nothing to do with your hand, she'd wait for you to ball it up into a fist and then climb on and boogie to your shoulder. Well she just hopped right onto my HAND and stayed for a moment and then up to my shoulder. So I put Remmi back on his cage and took Byndi into the kitchen with me. I leaned down to the cage top play gym we have in the kitchen not thinking she'd even think about climbing onto the perch and by gosh she DID!! She's come so far with us!!!!!!! I'm just so excited! She's learning to want attention, like Dani said months ago--she wants it just doesn't know how to accept it. She also climbed onto my lap earlier that night when I had Remmi and hung out with us. Of course she wanted a piece of Remmi too. But I kept that from happening. I'll have a tame bird yet! May take a couple years, but she's getting there! :D

I have been playing too much and Baby was in her cage from like 11 am yesterday until 6 pm.

When I came to him he was sitting with his poor little birdir body against the door napping. He saw me and went lou-lou. My baby acts monkeyish in his movements now that he is older.

He doesnt step up onto me now but more like a monkey in a cage he hops onto me... freak cant get there fast enough. Im glad I taught shoulder is a no-no because she hesitates much to go there when I need my hands and for her to crawl and cling there like Boo did, I dont like that. I like holding my bird. Not a pirate.

Meaning he is jumpy, if he needs to get somewhere, he jumps as much as possible to do it. To walk up a pillow he uses his claws and flaps his wings to get lift. lol

I love my little baby birdie by boy. Ack! and you wonder why he never shuts up.

Loooooook how I talk to him.

Jen that is so great! Ms. Byndi sure is coming along. Such an improvement. Keep it up!

Mik...your poor Baby must be so gender confused. Half the time he is a he and the other he is a she. LOL Too funny

jen, glad to hear byndi made progress. The first few days I brought fiona home, she was the sweetest bird in the world. Now she's back to her onrey self. :( I keep telling her I'm more stubborn than she is, but she still puts up a fight. It's so fun when you get that glimmer of sweet bird before they remember that they're not supposed to like you :D Hopefully, Byndi will make nothing, but progress. :)
