HELP! Male or Female??????
Hello
I have recently gotten my beautiful IRN Kari s/he is my first IRN and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they think her age or sex is? The breeder I got her from said s/he was under 6 months old, but she has yellow around her eyes so I think she is older. I know it is hard to tell the gender of a juvenile IRN but I can't be sure whether mine is actually a baby or an adult!
Anyway, here are some pictures:

The last image is a combination of some photos I took of her face.
Hopefully I'll be able to figure out my IRN's age and gender
Thank you
(EDIT: Kari has blue eyes and has started to pin her eyes but only a little and not often, and her feet are rather dark, which can be seen in the photos)

Re: HELP! Opinions wanted on the age and sex of my ringneck!
It is next to impossible to sex IRN, l think the sex is in the name if Kari is a female then you bird is female.

Re: HELP! Opinions wanted on the age and sex of my ringneck!
I know juveniles are hard to determine gender without a test so I suppose I'll have to wait for a ring to appear (or not appear)
I tried to pick as gender neutral a name as I could so no help there

Thanks for the reply!
I had an idea that she was a bit older but I could only go by what I was told by the breeder I'll keep an eye on her for any changes
Whatever she is she's still my baby

Re: HELP! Male or Female??????
I haven't been on here for a while, been busy with Kari, and my new addition but................
I have a BIG update for you all!
Kari is a BOY! That's right, a boy!
He must be much older than I thought as I saw him display last night, it was so clear I actually cried a little because I was so shocked!
And yes, I am aware how male and female ringnecks display differently before anyone asks
So yes, Kari is not a girl but in fact, a boy!
I'm just as surprised as you all are, I'm looking forward to seeing Kari's beautiful ring when it finally comes through!

congrats!!!
but don't get to excited my males do the female display, so not sure if females do the male one as-well but that's something to consider

Re: HELP! Male or Female??????
Yep, have hens here who do the heart shaped wings with the neck stretching- don't rely on behaviour- a dna test, ring or eggs are the only 100% for sure ways to tell ;)
