me venting

Post by Ducky »

I'm so mad at stupid people I went and look at a 3y old female Irn yest that is for sale from a lady in town. I got there and shes like well the bit-- is in here thats her name a spot next to the washer and dryer and not in sight of anything going on, at the time she was in her cage way to small and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. opend the door up and she came right out to her stand for a apple treat and yeah she grabbed for it and the lady about jumped , obviously scared of her.going on talking and he wanted 350 for her i was in slight shock. she wouldn't come down in her price because she wanted to buy an amazon she saw.and IRN are hard to find in this area one pet stores have blue ones for more he kept saying. I feel bad for the girl to have to live like that but i wan't giving that much for a lutino.so I left without her came home and have felt awful ever since. the lady called this am saying they'd take 300 I told her well I paid 150 for Ducky when he was 4m and she was kinda pissy with me because i didn't tell her I owned a Irn already and how i should know how much it cost to keep these birds then . I didn't have a come back..... nothing nice anyway . grrr what to do what to do.....

oops i thought i was i misc... you can move it

Elo Ducky, wot is it with these people, why do they get the birds in the first place.Anyway hun, regarding your worries on a 3 yr old irn. I adopted a 2+yr old male, Marley back in october. He arrived a human hating frightened little boy.You wouldnt believe the change in him now. I havent had any expirience with ringnecks befor so went in blind.
I sit with marley when ever i get the chance, sometimes i spend more time with him than without, and all i do is talk to him. At first he wouldnt even let me sit within 4 metres of him but gradually i moved the chair closer, now he will come and sit on the perch closets to where i sit , its so sweet. He will even take food from my hand through the bars. And we can even let him out his cage in the evening.
Anyway Ducky , my point is dont be put off by the age of the bird, just see it as a challenge. :D Take care, Natalie.

Some people are way ignorant! I can't believe she'd give up one to get another. So stupid. Hope she knows that amazons are no picnic! They are larger and if she is afraid of the IRN now imagine a larger bird! *wants to throw something* I swear some people!
