My baby blue indian ringneck (around 8 months old) has just finished its first molt. Before hand it had a faint white ring around its neck... After the molt the ring has turned grey. Does this mean my bird is a male ? opinions are appreciated

havnt really found anything yet, his favourite is apple but i dont really see that as a treat as he gets that in his cage all the time

yehh thats what iv been trying to do cept its lkind of hard when my bf thinks the right approach is to put him back if he jumps off to teach him he cant be out of the cage if he wont stay on us, i have the opposite feelings lol

I have the same problem Tara, only mine has its wings clipped and still doesn't want to stay with me ,he Always finds his way back to the Cage, thankfully I don't have a problem with biting but he's starting to get jumpy when I put my hand in and Ask him to step up

hi there, yes mine is going on 10 weeks and it was fully feathered when i got it at 8 weeks...im not sure as to when they actually get all there feathers as i didnt see mine before 8 weeks and this is my first IRN

Uh ohhh .. yep time to clip, he will bond better to you that way anyway as he will be more dependant on you. It's really easy, you can look it up and find a diagram on where to cut,only clip one wing tho , to put it off balance. Hmm maybe mine is male but I guess time will tell, we will love it eith...

he doesnt seem to be shaking while hes sitting there, he will grind his beak a bit .... i do have to scratch him a fair bit before he will willingly lay still but we get there

otherwise he will be jumping around the back of the couches trying to fly back to his cage.

had my baby IRN 5 days now, have been sitting him close to my chest and scrathing his head, when i take my hand away from being lightly over him, he sits there for ages and lets me pet him.. does this mean hes getting content with me or just scared?

he does eat peas and corn already and i have pellets here aswell so will try him on these. he just wont eat any other seed except the sunflower seeds ?
