its something that will come and go, a lot depends on how we handle it. My boy indie is super friendly and i have had him for around 8yrs and he will still try bluffing.

welcome to bluffing :lol: i shouldnt laugh but your description makes me think of mine. when mine do it to me i make a point of not backing down, i kinda treat mine like kids do to other kids (and some adults :shock: ) i dont back away and i say ooh whatcha gunna do hey tough guy, you dont scare me....

i wouldnt reccomend taking indy outside either. I almost forgot pinky was on my shoulder as i walked out the door yesterday im so used to him being on me i just about walked straight out.

maybe it would be better to go off the bird you are going to purchase condition and ask around for other people that have a bird from the breeder.

This part worries me thats why I would clip first and treat him like a fledgling. I wouldnt do a full clip though.amourdeparis wrote:He always crash lands. It's quite traumatic for him.

The breeder may think something is up with you too, there is no way Im showing anyone i dont personally know my house or my birds and other animals. People get robbbed and animals taken sometimes by people answering adds ect and bassically casing the place under the guize of buying a pet.Its a shame...

also with teaching him to land try standing a short distance from his cage or another place he can land and having him sitting on your hand or arm slightly move so he flies off of you and onto cage. Gradually move back a bit so he has to fly further and gets used to landing properly. You can safely ...

I would have him clipped again and let him have plenty of on top of cage time, when he holds on with his feet and starts flapping encourage him to do it. Doing that makes his wings nice and strong. When Mika starts going nuts and doing the flapping while holding on we say go go go to him to encourag...

yep thats what i use on our cages and on the floors around the cages. if its possible try putting some bi carb on the perch then add some vinegar to it, doing it like that makes it fizz and it gets it clean really well.

I have one around 4mths and he does exactly the same only he doesnt bite my mouth he kisses me or headbutts my lips with his beak. He also gives me a good telling off if i dont have anything for the little bugger. He eats whatever I give him but i dont give him a choice.

go to a pet shop and get some bird insect spray, cloud and his living areas (cage) need to be sprayed. if it is living on him and it sticks i wouldnt think its a fly rather some type of mite. I know vetafarm has a good spray that works well.

ellie with the bird in the pic it looks more like a shadow from the head to body. Kinda like the head has been stuck on later. Surprisingly some hens have really pretty rings.

Hi and welcome. Some of us have Alex"s aswell as IRNs. Please feel free to ask whatever questions you have. If your after an answer and no one has been able to help try the search function. Alex"s are very similar to irns so the answers are pretty much the same for both.

I know exactly what you mean, my little otherwise sweetheart is doing it. I push his beak away and tell him no, its slowly working. No seems to work better with him when he is trying to eat the curtains thou. Mine is around 4 months.

if it is pallid i would say its the other way round and the lighter one is lutino and the one with a green tinge is the pallid (if it is a pallid).

The avairy birds food and water is on totally different sides with no perches and they still manage to put food in the water. They must take 1 seed at a time and fly backwards and forwards from one bowl to another.

I have both an alex and irns and they Have the exact same behaviours. And both males and females change during breeding season (winter) treat them the same as bluffing.

now is a good time to give him scratches and get him used to being touched. He will really like the scratches when his feathers are coming through, touch him around the beak to get him familiar with your hands.

my young blue rubs his beak on everything, especially me. Does he like to chew stuff? if so the beak gets chipped fairly easy, im pretty sure it doesnt hurt them.
