Clicking noise

Post by ElliottsMomma »

Elliott makes this weird clicking noise with his/her beak. It almost sounds like he is chewing something but there is nothing in his mouth. What is this? Is it normal? He normally does it while he is sitting next to him mirror.

I'm not sure why they do it, mine all do it and it kind of reminds me of kids grinding their teeth.

It's a sign of happiness. Not hyper happy. Just being content with his/her life. My Sky does this all the time, too. Be happy that your bird is happy. :D

That noise is called beak grinding. It is a behavior trait that your IRN will do when sleepy, happy, or content. It is a good thing. Sometimes if you watch and he is grinding his beak, he will talk to his self quietly then fall asleep. It is so cute. :)
