clipped wings
When I got my bird about 4 months ago his wings where clipped. he still cant fly and falls like a stone. How long does it normally take for the flight feathers to grow back?
even when their wings are clipped, they can get a foot or two off the ground. That is normal. He should glide to the ground. Does he do it a lot?
Fiona was flighted for awhile so she really built up her flight muscles so she gets a little higher, but once she learned she couldn't fly anymore she didn't try as much. His wings will grow back with the next molt.

He shouldnt fall like a rock, he could break his mandible or chest bone.
Let his wings grow back fully and have him trimmed correctly.
(The first 8-10 primaries cut UPWARDS towards the birds head. Cut the primaries UP TO the secondaries or it looks ratty.)
This is how a bird clipped CORRECTLY should look. And with this, he glides nicely but no flight whatsoever. No lift.
They are beginning to grow back out, as you can see in the pic but it makes for a very nice... stream-line cut. No lift, only glide.
Hope that helps!
