marked tail

Post by sheyd »

Hi all,

I had assumed until recently, that this marking was of the breeder marking the tail of the bird before it went to sale- to identify who was who- since the bird is not close rung.

Going through some older threads I notice that some other blue series birds have similar dark blue markings on their tails- which leads me to this question.. is it dye or is it an actual marking- if it is an actual marking why do only some have it, and what does it mean?

Ben? Rod?

The thread I found yesterday that made me think there was more to it:

The thread I found today asking the same question:
http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... f=1&t=7788

So, I guess it's just one of those things unsolved?
