Asparagus stalks OK for IRNs?

Hi All -

I'm new here, just got my first IRN about a month ago. I really enjoy this web site -- I am learning so much!

It's fresh asparagus from California/Mexico time here in Washington.

We had some for lunch today and I was wondering about the hard ends that you snap off and don't eat.

Are they OK for IRNs? I'd love to give some to Nikki but I don't want to do anything to hurt her.

They are ok, but not tasty. Just like us, the birds will prefer the soft tips
