HELP iRN biting

how can i make my IRN to stop biting he is 6 months and 3 weeks old but evrytime i want him to hop on my finger he tries biting and its mean he lets me pat him on his head he seems to like it and makes cute noises i feed him of my hand but he wants to bite

what should i do ??

please help i dont want him to become mean

Can you describe more how the biting occurs? Is your bird biting your finger when you try to get it to step up or when your bird is on your finger? How hard does your bird bite. Because birds don't have hands they will sometimes use their beak to test a "perch" to see if it is stable. Mine used to do this when they were younger but now they know my hands are safe they don't do it any more. They still bite occasionally but it's different bite and for different reasons.

Does your bird also crouch down when you pat him? If so, I think your bird might be a female.
