Gender Confused Birdy

Post by Gemma »

Hey everyone! My beautiful Ringneck Benny is coming up to his second birthday in a few months and I'm wondering whether he is actually a boy or a girl. For about a year now he has been displaying like the males do and will display his pretty wings and dance around just about anything, but lately he has taken up the habit of also displaying like females do with their head back. The majority of the time he acts like a boy but every now and then his feminine side comes out.....especially with my other bird  Does anyone have any opinions? Thanks!

It's pretty simple. Since he's two years old, if he has a ring he's a male. if he doesn't he's a female.

I am having a similar problem with my bird...
He is only~2 years old, he had not started to display his ring however all of his characteristics are that of a male. The needle dowsing test shows him as a male however he has started to sown like a girl....
