Hey guys.
New poster here!
I have an important question. I purchased 2 indian ringnecks last summer. Both are females but they are very attached and are always together in my aviary. I had a nestbox in their aviary which looking back now might not have been a good idea... One of them has gone in the nestbox and will not leave it! I don't think she has laid eggs yet but I think she is going too. Since they are both females aren't the eggs just going to be infertile? What should I do? I have a friend who wanted the birds from me and I was hoping to give them to him this weekend as a suprise since I do not have as much time as I would like to spend with them. Is it okay if I just remove the nestbox from the aviary?
Oh also one is green and the other lutino and neither has a black or red ring around the neck so I am 100% sure they are females.
Any advice would be great!

best to remove the box, as yes the eggs will be infertile, and laying eggs takes alot of calcium and minerals, vitamins etc from the bird.
Re: Important question
Hi;
I had a young male 2 years old without the ring coupled to a female laying fertile eggs ... so I think that if they are together and one of them (I bet the lutino) is working the nest ... maybe you have a bonded pair ready to reproduce.
How do you know that they both are females? Just because they do not display the ring or did you a feather test for sexing?

Thanks for the reply.
Well they are both 4 years old from my understanding and neither has a ring.
So they have to be females right?
