Diy toys ?

Post by Dj tweet »

Hi all I'm posting here as I could not find a special diy section
* please advise me if there is*
I'm interested in seeing some of the wonderful toys or playstands you guys have mad for your fids

I'm getting an Alex soon and need ideas

My idea to share with all is this :
Needed : over door clothes/ coat rack
Length of dowel
drill
Cable ties or wire
Assorted toys
Key rings or quick links
Place a toy on to each hook
drill a hole in the dowel according to the position of the hooks
Using your cable ties attach the toys and dowel to each hook
the key rings are to add extra toys on the top bar if you want to
and that's it your all done
I have one made for almost each door so birdie has his own space wherever he is and it's great space saving for small flats
lay your piece of dowel accross the top of these hooks so toys hang down under it
using cable ties or wire tie both the toys and dowel to each hook

Do you get this idea off me when
I wrote a fourm on saying "How to make a birdie tent"?
I'm going to write to the owner of the site asking for a D.I.Y section!
I totally agree with you, their should be

Regards

Mike

P.S
Nice idea, love it

I recently came across this website:
http://www.parrotenrichment.com/

On it, she has two free eBooks that give you ideas on enrichment for your parrot and give you instructions on how to make things. Within the site, she has even more information. She has videos on how to make things and instruction booklets as well as video footage of the birds interacting with the toys.

I find her work really inspiring. The person who created these resources is Kris Porter... and I'm calling her a she... but I'm not sure what his/her gender actually is... so apologies Kris if you are actually a man!

Regardless of Kris's gender, I thoroughly recommend the site!

Regards

Ellie.
