Tell us your 'bluffing' story...

Post by muz »

I'm interested to hear your tales regarding bluffing.
Examples...
When did it start?
How long did it last?
Is your bird male or female?
Did you manage to avoid it?
Anything else of interest...

I think partly because we speak about it so often in so many topics lol!

Hane was easy, never bit down hard. I called his bluff every time and he's a spectacular companion.

Tsume drew blood. My sister reacted with a loud yell (not the best idea) and he's a little quirky as an adult by my sis and him love one another.

Both are male, and I don't remember how long it lasted- though Hane was done first. Tsume took a bit longer...

I think not reacting is the best thing. If you just have to go yell, leave the room and do it. When I was caring for three IRNs going through bluffing, I had to leave them in their cage for two days, not doing anything but changing food and water before they would stop trying to bite. And they bit hard. After the two days they wanted attention more than they wanted to bite. Every bird is going to be different.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

How old were they when they started?
Someone told my wife last week that females are more aggressive and more likely to bite than males.
