Post by robbiesangel »

im new to the forum, me n my husband have just taken on Tommy hes a very untame, nervous bird, we hoping with time n patience that he will be come tame and freindly, we only had him 3 days but he seem as if wen we talk to him he listens as he tips his head, he was left alone for long time of day, so is very quiet in day n come alive at teatime,

we are trying him with new fruits each day, so far hes not trying anything new, i guess in time these are things he will do,

heres some photos of Tommy.

Hi robbiesangel, welcome aboard! :)

Tommy is a handsom boy.

Keep trying with the fruit and veg, I am sure Tommy won't take long before he starts eating it like it is the best thing EVER!!! lol

Have you tried offering fresh corn? My guys will walk over hot coals to get it.

Maybe you could try mashing a little bit of apple, for example, then mixing in a little of his seed with it and offering him this first thing in the morning when he is hungry, an hour or so before giving him anything else. As he picks the seed he gets to taste the fruit.

My birds fav is corn, apple, capsicum, pear, peas, carrot, strawberries....actually they will eat anything they can get their beaks into

I bet in no time you will be posting Tommys progress on how well he is doing. :)

Keep us updated :)
