I'm a new member with 2 male ringnecks. I own a boutique in AZ and rescued the birds from a horrible street vendor in LA, where I go twice a month on buying trips.
Pika was the first one I recued. He was sitting on the bottom of a tiny cage, crowded so full of lovebirds that most couldn't even perch and were hanging from the ceiling of the cage.
Pika was sitting on the bottom of the cage, looking terrible. No tail at all and wing feathers hacked off straight across and close to the bone

Next trip I got a friend for him from the same place, another male.
They now have in a nice big 7' x 6' x 3' cage. Pika can't enjoy the cage until his feathers have grown back though, as he'd injure himself if he fell off the top perch.
I have him in a slightly smaller cage for the moment with a network of perches he scrambles up and down!
The second ringneck Taco is just beautiful , he didn't suffer as badly as Pika did.
