My two males talk a lot. talks all the time. The younger one, a female cannot talk yet but I have heard some attempts during her 'practice sessions'. I think IRNs go through a phase where they literally are practicing and then from that they learn to talk. That's how mind did any how.

What beautiful birds and photos. They are adorable together. I also have a lutino cockatiel in my household but she does not have that bond with the IRNs.

You have gorgeous birds.

I know that when they are young their eyes are all black and they change as they get older to having the white ring around the black part of the eye. My question is, at what age does this happen? Breeder has a bird age 5 mos and the eye is already changed. I am trying to figure out if this bird is t...

Cool! I thought IRN had to be 1 year old before it could talk. Taj didn't speak til 1 year but now he has a huge vocabulary, over 50 words. He is 8 now.

My new girl does this. She is only 3 mos old and cannot talk and is usually very quiet. But sometimes when she is resting with her head in her wing she is making alot of noises. I think she is practicing for when she can talk.

They used small clippers and a Dremel device kinda like a very small sander, after they clipped the nails. My bird hated it and it took 3 people to clip him! He was mad at me for a week after this. ...

color of feet?

I have two ringnecks, one I had for a long time, the other is quite new. I notice my male bird has pale, almost white feet. The new one, a female I think, has very dark feet, a dark grey color. What is normal for these birds?

I find that each ringneck is very different. My male bird, does not like to be held or petted, but he loves to sit on my shoulder and enjoys being with me. He's just not a "touchy" bird. My young female is so touchy. You can hold her and hug her and pet her. She enjoys this. So each one is unique, t...
