hi all my irns yellow hen blue cock breed with each other about four and a half weels ago and she still has not layed any eggs. i saw them breed 4 different times.
She has worked her box over the weeks, but for the past 2 weeks all she does is sit at the hole of the box when she gos near it. Most of the time she is with her mate. Im very frustrated on wether she will lay or not.
She wont let her mate mate with her.I have checked box and no eggs .
So if any one breeds irns some advice would be great.

I had that problem last breeding season.I had a blue split cinnamon male with a cinnamon turquoise female.I was seeing them breed at least 4times a day.Then all the sudden they stopped.I checked my lights and that was the problem.More than 12 hours will put them into a early moult and less than 10 will put them into a resting period.I had too much light and they started to moult.
If thats your problem and you can catch it early enough you can correct it and they should resume activity in a few weeks.
