Breeding Season

Post by Coastal-Birds »

Hi
Next season is as above june july but i have pairs now displaying and working boxes.Im in NSW on the central coast where weather has been weird.Hot one day raining the next im not sure if that has something to do with it or not.But out of alot of ringnecks about 150 there are plenty displaying.I would maybe put a box in and see what happens.
Best of luck.

I have noticed my boys have been trying to woo the girls with their love dance for around a month now, but so far, the girls just aren't falling for it. lol

Sheena, I think its broken down into two
things. Like December to July then the second
time around might be from October to December.
That was an example :?

Ok thanks. My IRN's had eggs in September last year and my hen sat on them for nearly 23 days and then we had a thunder storm and the eggs died. So i dont know if they will breed again until Spring/Summer.

I leave my nest boxes in all year round and up to now, I have not had any winter chicks.
Sometimes when it is very cold, I have seen the birds go into the box. I guess to keep warm as no nesting activity happens. :)
