my bird ringneck piplar is now 1yr and 4 months.. however things are not going very well at all.. ever since his bluffing he has been attacking my father and anybody who goes near his cage but he only tries to bit me sometimes. i can scratch his neck and kiss him, but he will not step up when he is out of his cage. just recently he has started to continuously screaming.. just non stop.. every morning for about two hours, then hours in the afternoon. it is very very annoying and i sit down and talk to him and rub his neck and when i leave he just starts screaming. during his bluffing i did what i thought was right and just ignore his bitting and take it, but obviously i messed up somewhere. once a loving little bird i fear i might have to sell him for breeding or some thing...
is it to late to do something?

it can be really discouraging to feel like you do not have a bond with your bird....i owned my ringneck Fred for well over a year without being able to establish a bond. i was impatient with him and didnt understand why i couldnt get close to him. it wasnt until my boyfriend moved in with us and really gave every ounce of patience to just letting fred be fred that we learned to truly enjoy his personality. there are still days when he is unpredictable and acts up but the joy of his love when he does share it is priceless. my hunnie just let fred come and go as he pleased and talked to him all the time chatting to him and was eventually able to give him kisses and pets on his head. now fred is sweet and friendly and loves when we have company over. he talks and sings and sits on our shoulders and he's such a kissy bug! you would never know he was the same bird. give him all your patience and eventually you will be rewarded with all his love! he'l never be perfect but no one can be
