Hey again,
My gfreen Indian Ring neck is supposed to be about 6 months old. He is loosing and gaining new feathers, but around the bottom oh his/hers beak, is turning grey....Is it possible for males to begin to get their rings at such a young age? Or do both sex's have the grey below their beaks?
Thanks x
Is this possible???

The following is a pic of a 6yo breeding pair, showing that hens can and do get a grey ring.
Its not overly common in Indian Ringnecks, but tinges of aqua to grey can occur in young birds, though should look nothing like an adult ring.
With the males, the ring generally comes through instantly in one moult, hard and fast.
Youngest I have ever heard of a ringneck moulting a true ring is one year.
