Hi,
I recently posted pics of my 2 new IRNs and was told they were Cinnamon blue and cinnamon grey. My aunt bought the other 2 siblings (also a CB and a CG).

The DNA results have just come back and all 4 are boys, so I was wondering if their mutation is sex linked?

Now I have a limited grasp on mutations at this point, and getting into things like sex linked mutation can just about do my head in, but I was just curious as to if it was just luck that they were all boys, or not.

If any answers could be kept in very simple terms it would be appreciated

Cinnamon is a sex linked mutation, but being so.. its easy to get hens that are cinnamon and harder to get the males.

To get male Cinnamons, you need at the very least a split cinnamon male with a cinnamon hen, or both parents to be cinnamon.

A split cinnamon male with a normal hen, can give cinnamon females, but only possibly split cinnamon males... so males are technically harder to get.

I would just asume it was coincidence that you got all males.
