You saw a WHAT?

Post by Cal-MI »

I live in Michgan, but I am vacationing in the Netherlands. I am seeing many new bird species and reporting my finds to eBird. Yesterday I saw three green parrots flying in a woods near Warmond, NL. The day before I saw one in Sassenheim. When I tried to report it as a green parrot or military macaw, Ebird did not recognize the names. After I photographed one, I Googled "green parrot" and browsed through the pictures. Found one picture that matched mine and that brought me here. So now I can report it as a Rose-ringed Parakeet. What a relief! I really enjoy reading your owner's stories on this web site. I do not own any birds, but enjoy feeding many wild species. This year I will install a bluebird house in my yard. -Cal

How lovely!, my grandson spotted a blue male IRN in his local park (Bedfordshire UK). Love your photo too. Thanks for sharing this. :-bd
