handfeeding problems... please advise

Post by calijewel13 »

Sailor is about 10weeks old, He came in with a clutch of conures I was handfeeding for a friend. I have never had any issues with handfeeding, but neither have I ever handfed a IRN, although I have always been an admirer of these awesome birds... I agreed to feed him. Initially he fed well no problem, but I noticed right away he cried like a kitten frequently. This has become more and more frequent and he eats less and less in fact he now spits it up... I thought ok he is fully fledged so I will back off on the feedings and let him wean with 1 nightly feeding ... he sits in the cage is inactive unhappy and when I take him out to interact with him he only wants to flee ... this is totally foriegn behavior for me does anyone have any answers for me? Thanks
Janette

Has something changed in your house or with the other birds that might cause him to be upset?
