Beaut birds

Post by pinkdevil »

My parents live in Queensland and last year I went to visit them. While there 2 birds came to feed on the Grevillea tree that mum has growing about 3 feet from her patio.
This is what visits my parents front yard.

They are Red Winged Parrots and are absolutely beautiful. Was good to see them so close to the house. I was very happy when I was able to take a few pics of them. They hung around for about an hour or so.

I think that it was a young one as I have pics of another visit at my parents of I think the same pair a few months later and he has more red on the wings. I will find them and pop them in here to :)

The tree is a Grevillea, it's a flowering tree native to Australia and New Guinea. There is no fruit on it just the flowers and seeds. The birds seem to enjoy it anyway :)
