Paulie didn't break the skin, but did leave a bruise. Here's what happened:

Paulie was sitting on my shoulder, my hand was near him, but not close... He lunged and got hold of a piece of skin, got a good grip, then kept pulling my hand in, till it was close enough for him to step up! He stepped up on my hand and let go...

I think this was just clear communication on Paulie's part...

Our Norma Jean always steps up after pulling in my finger to her, I think most IRN’s do. Did you pull away a little when Paulie grabbed hold? I know if I do that with Norma she holds tighter.
