Re: cage linings
Sanjay has a Liberta Raleigh, and although it has a grid, I have a polythene dust sheet covered with fresh broadsheet newspaper, changed daily. He never ventures to his basement, so I don't worry about him chewing it. When he had his nursery cage I used sand (bird sand). It was a table top cage. It's horses for courses really. ;)

Thanks, i was just interested as reading up about IRN's it say's they like to forage, Normans cage doesn't have a grill bottom, so i just use sand sheets, but thought if they like to forage was wondering what else i could use.

Re: cage linings
Sanjays foraging takes the form of seed filled foods hung up on Skewers, and cage type containers stuffed with food and hanging up too. Even when he had his nursery cage he never ate anything off the floor, I think they know instinctively that food dropped is dodgy to eat because of germs.

Hi Thanks for the reply, this is what prompted me to ask, as you say the bottom of the cage is not exactly clean. !!
