Got this picture from a breeder, imported and saying it is a violetgrey. dont know the parents, only it is a female. could anybody confirm this mutation or what it maybe.

Hi Mike,
Grey unfortunately does a great job of masking violet to the point that it's not visually possible to determine if a bird is grey or violet grey. That fact that there is some colour visible on the bird leads me to believe it may in fact be a cobalt grey.
In any event, you need to pair her to a blue cock. This will help you determine what else she may carry, wether it's the violet factor or the dark factor, as you will bred violet blues or dark blues(cobalt), as well as greys, blues, violet greys? and cobalt greys?
It's birds like this that make breeding interesting, you never know what will turn up in the nest.
