how to get photos of your birds onto this website

i have some photos but where can i go to put mine next to my name in the forums

That is called an avatar. You need an image that is 80 X 80 pixels or smaller and you'll have to upload it to an image site like www.photobucket.com

Then, just paste the URL of your image into your profile in the "Link to off-site Avatar" area and you're set.
