Hello everyone, my name is Christie and I am a birdie slave!

My flock started when I was 11, with my tiel Tweety. In college I added another tiel named Unix. When I got my first teaching job, I fell in love with my IRN Princess Buttercup. She had to be rehomed because she killed another IRN at her previous residence. The next year I rescued another tiel, to Princess's displeasure. Then I rounded out my flock a couple of years ago with Lady Gouldian Finches.

I am now 30 and very thankful to have found this forum! Sometimes Princess will perplex me with how she behaves, and from reading here, I find that she is completely normal. She loves me, but will growl and bark at my husband. she will occasionally allow him to pet her using a toy, or on a good day the edge of his finger, but she would rather bite him.

She still cannot be trusted with other birds. She would gladly make the tiels dissapear if she could. She for some reason, loves the finches. I made the mistake of moving them to another room once and she turned into a deamon bird!!  When I figured out that she missed the finches, they were promptly moved back and she has been a sweetheart ever since.

Hey Christie,
Just reread this thread & realized Magellan may be acting nutso because half of her flock is still up in Orange County, while she is down in San Diego with me. Very interesting....... Princess B is a beauty!
