Can you help me for age?

Post by TheSmallesttTall »

Hi to everyone from Ankara, Turkey..

I've been thinking to adopt a Indian Ringneck nowadays and I found 2 birds from a seller. He said birds are 3 months old.

Can you help about their ages? Is it true that they are 3 months old or seller is lying to me?

Here are the pictures:

They look young though I couldn't say how young. See the difference between their dark juvenile eye and the adult eye of the bird at the top of this page.

Besides the juvenile eyes MissK mentioned their beaks seems a bit too red for a very young bird. From what I've seen (depending on mutation) the beaks start out as a pinkish shade that deepens to the red as they age.

Its not just the baby eyes, but the short beaks too, personally they look younger than 3 months to me, a breeder may know.
