Hello all.I was wondering if lemon grass can be used as nesting material/bedding for ringnecks ?

As far as dried lemongrass being toxic, it is not and wouldn't harm in that way. I wouldn't want to put a bunch of fresh grass in, as you could unintentionally grow mold/mildew- but I live in Florida so it might just be a local concern.

There is a concern of any chick bedding that is long and stringy tangling around a chick or a chick's legs and causing injury, so I think if I were to try using lemongrass, I would chop it into short lengths.

I'm not sure if the IRNs would want to use it. They're cavity nesters and most cavity nesters seem rather negligent in the nest-building area. Just some sawdust or shavings seems to to the trick. But I don't see why you can't try.
