I dont know if this deserves a (G) rating or an (X) rating for strange birdy love. But we think its hilarious. Gilbert reeeeally loves his bell. A lil too much. Im curious.. Is this normal mating for a male? Sorry there is no sound.

Don't know if it's normal but it's funny as all get out.
Just don't take away the bell!!

This was few months ago in mating season, he would do this EVERY morning first thing he'd do is scream at it, begging me to unhook his bell and put it on the floor! When he'd finished with it, hed want me to put it back in his cage so he could 'feed it'. He only started doing this last year.
My partner wants to send it in to funniest home videos but I dont think Gilbert would like the world seeing his 'home videos'.
Hehe, He holds onto the wooden part and 'walks' around the floor doing this!
There should be a 'birdie bar' for lonely parrots. lol.

He sure does love his bell. In mating season he wont let me go near it if its on the floor. Chases my feet and corners me, then bites my toes. So I have to wear shoes around him while hes a lil hormonal.
Most days he will pick up the chain and chuck it around. He'll do this for hours non stop! I dont know why.
I should put it on youtube!

Oh, Oh, I know that (wink) dance
Yep, my Luna does this sort of dance (insert throat clearing here)..He has red bell and in the last month has done this dance, along with head bobbing, strutting with heart wings, beaking it, feed it...Now, Luna is a poor confused boy, as there is a beautiful green lady in the cage RIGHT next to him and he would prefer this bell...Of course Mrs. B (the lady) is a little older and not impressed with the young 3 year old...Nope she would prefer to mate with ME!!...All she wants is to be petted by me..Head back, clucking noise, swayed back and tail pointed down in a trace so hard you could kiss any part of her body without getting bit!..She will do this trace ANY where and any time I coo to her...On the floor, on my knee, on the cage, the tree gym, on the curtain, on my lamp shade (hmm thats another story)..Anywhere...Poor birds they both want the same thing so bad and yet can't stand each other.

Hes had a 'thing' for this bell for about a year now I think. He has his days where he 'chucks' it around and gets angry with it but then most days he absolutely adores it, giving it kisses, cuddles it at night, where ever his bell is he goes.
So now the bell is a tool to get him to come to me. I just have to ring it and he will come flying out from wherever hes hiding. He will only step up if I have 'the bell'. Im trying to get him to step up again without the bell. We are getting there.
