Why is it my male ringneck pluck his mate in the head during breeding season? and he does not know how to mate, he is already 2 yrs old

He is probably frustrated about something. Are you feeding him green foods and fruits? Does he get a regulary bathe at least once a week? Is their cage large enough? Do they have any toys in their cage? These are all standard needs for the pet and breeding bird you have to provide. I have heard of females killing males, but not of males harming females. This is a strange condition. I think he is just frustrated about something, or he's bored. What does the female do when he plucks at her? Does it just seem like overpreening or not?
