We made it!

Traveling with Baby was a breeze!! He barely made a peep! When we had him out everyone came around and was like, "Ooo! What kind of bird is that?" "Can he talk?" and of course, "What a pretty bird you have!" :D *proud mama smiles* He didn't make a peep on the plane, either. The security people were in awe of him.

Of course Grandma (my mum) fell in love with him and wants an IRN of her own

Well we stopped at Petland on our way to Mum's to pick Baby up a cage for her place. Of course we had to play with their parrots too. There was a SWEET lil albino irn they said had been there for a year :( Then for the first time ever I saw an Alexandrine. They are SOOO cool!! I think I want one some day :) Then.............. ........they had a big old Catalina Macaw that had been there about a year. I stuck my arm in for him to step up and said, "Step up" so he repeated my, "Step up" followed by a "Hiiiiiiiiiiiii!" He was a great talker. He was fine at first on my arm but then he started ruffling his feathers and slightly lunging at me. I got a lil uneasy and he could sense it so he started bluffing at me and nibbling my finger. I didn't think anything about it so I kept him on my arm. However, one of the employees walked by and grabbed his tail!!!!! He bite onto my finger and gnawed at it. It punctured my finger in 2 holes, drew blood and it's very swollen. He could have broken it if he wanted. I think I learned my lesson though, I can't handle big parrot bluffing (and that some Petland workers need to be shot  )...therefore I think the largest we will go will be a Severe Macaw some day  (or maybe eclectus). But there goes my Palm Cockatoo dream  It not like I won't ever hold a big old bid again, just not a big macaw! Their beaks scare me!!

Anywho, we plan to take Baby to the lake tomorrow (today just we people are going so we can lounge around on floaties). Baby is adjusting SO well. His cage is right by the window in our room and he LOVES looking out it and sqwaking when birds fly by!

Excellent! Glad to hear Baby did so well!

Macaws can be scary but only if you let them be. Most of them are cuddle bugs and if not you can help them get that way. I am a firm believer in rescues and helping the older birds who need a home.

They love to travel, dont care where they are going and are at home with their surroundings as long as their person is there. But remember, if you get annoyed or aggravated, your baby will feel that so try to play it off.

In my Baby's case, if I get worked up he will do the contact call as if to say 'chill ma, ya making me upset'.

I travel very much and yall know my baby is right there :!:

They dont need wings... they have wheels on their asses.

yay! glad you made it there! I cant believe that an employee would do that! that would've scared me too. I know that at places like that they aren't prolly trained well but still, what a stupid thing to do. Take lots of pictures for us :) please

So how's the weather, could you aim a cool breeze toward sw florida please.

Hope the rest of the visit is as great.

I think you should go back to the pet store and pull that clerks nose and then bite him on the hand. Because if he pulls that bird's tail all the time he's setting it up to not be purchased because of bad behavior. :P to him
